What this place is for

The Strong Suit exists so people can build a reputation from work they actually did, and get opportunities they would otherwise never be considered for. A lot of members here are starting out with no portfolio, no degree and no network. That is the point.

Two rules underneath everything else:

  1. Be honest about your work. Reputation here means something only because it is earned.
  2. Treat people like they are standing in front of you.

Breaking these rules can cost you your content, your reputation, or your account.

1. Be honest about your work

Do: post work you actually did, describe your real role, say when you were one of several people on something, and say when something is AI-generated.

Do not: post someone else's work as yours, overstate your contribution, post a client's confidential work without permission, or claim qualifications, clients or experience you do not have.

2. Do not game the reputation system

XP, levels, Founding Member numbers and trust labels only mean something if they are real. This is the rule we enforce hardest — when it breaks, the whole product is worthless.

Not allowed: fake or sham tasks to manufacture task-verified proof; approving work that was never delivered; arranging to cosign each other; cosigning work you have no real basis to stand behind; running more than one account; any scheme to inflate XP or trust labels, yours or anyone else's.

A cosign means you personally stand behind this work. If that is not true, do not give it.

We review suspicious patterns by hand. We do not auto-ban anyone. If we find manipulation we may reverse XP, remove proof, restrict features or close accounts — and we record why.

3. Treat people properly

Not allowed: harassment, bullying, threats or intimidation; attacking or demeaning people based on race, colour, ancestry, place of origin, religion, marital or family status, disability, sex, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, age or source of income; sexual harassment; encouraging anyone to harm themselves; publishing someone's private information without permission; sharing intimate images without consent; organising pile-ons.

Disagreement is fine. Direct feedback is fine. Telling someone their work is not there yet is fine — that is how people get better. Contempt is not.

4. Do not impersonate anyone

Do not pretend to be another person, a business, or an organisation you are not part of. Do not use someone's name, logo or likeness to suggest they are involved with you. Obvious parody is fine.

5. Respect other people's work

Only upload things you made or have permission to use. Do not post work taken from someone else's portfolio. Do not use images, fonts, music, code or designs you do not have a licence for. Credit collaborators.

If your copyright has been infringed, see section 11 of the Terms. Repeat infringers lose their accounts.

6. Tasks have to be legitimate

If you post a task, you must: describe the work honestly including what you will pay and when; pay what you agreed, on time, if you agreed to pay; review submitted work in reasonable time and either request changes or approve.

You must not: post work that is illegal or unsafe; post academic work meant to be passed off as someone else's; ask for anything deceptive such as fake reviews or fake engagement; ask for logins, ID documents or financial information; discriminate on a protected ground when choosing who to accept; post a task you never intend to pay for or approve; use the applicant pool to get free work by asking for the finished job as a test; or repost the same task to stay at the top.

Unpaid and exchange tasks are welcome — for a lot of members they are the first real opportunity anyone has offered. But say clearly that it is unpaid, do not disguise paid work as an opportunity, and do not ask for weeks of work for a credit.

Full detail is in the Task Rules.

7. Nothing illegal

No fraud, scams or phishing. No selling illegal goods or services. No malware or attacks. No child sexual abuse material or anything sexually exploiting a minor. No human trafficking or exploitation. No threats of violence.

We report child sexual abuse material and credible threats to life to the authorities.

8. Do not break the platform

No scraping or bulk collection without our written permission. No bots to create accounts or post. No spam or mass unsolicited messages. No getting around a suspension with a new account.

If you find a security problem, please tell us at hello@thestrongsuit.app. We will thank you properly and we will not come after you for reporting it in good faith.

9. Keep it about the work

This is not a general social network. Off-topic political campaigning, religious proselytising, MLM recruitment, crypto promotion and unrelated advertising belong somewhere else.

10. What happens when something goes wrong

Depending on what happened and whether it is a pattern, we may issue a warning, remove content, reverse XP or proof obtained in breach of these rules, restrict features for a while, suspend the account so it is read-only, or close it.

We normally start with the lightest option that fixes the problem. Some things go straight to termination: child sexual abuse material, credible threats of violence, fraud, and serious reputation manipulation.

We will normally tell you what we did and why, unless we are legally prevented or it would risk harm.

If you think we got it wrong, reply to the notice or email hello@thestrongsuit.app. A person will look again. We cannot promise an outcome or a deadline, but we will actually read it.

11. Reporting something

Use the report button on any profile, proof, task, project, post, comment or message — or email hello@thestrongsuit.app. Tell us what, where, and what is wrong.

What we can honestly promise: we read reports and act on the ones that need acting on.

What we cannot: a fixed response time, that we will catch everything, or that we will always agree with you. We are a small operation and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise.

Do not abuse reporting. Filing false reports to harass someone is itself a breach.

12. Emergencies

If someone is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number first — we cannot respond fast enough to be the right first call. Then tell us at hello@thestrongsuit.app.
